In this section of the website we introduce you to our firms. First up is London-based firm Elman Wall Limited, co-founded by Managing Director Jonathan Wall. Read his answers to our questions to get to know him and his firm better.
What do you like about working for your firm?
“Not knowing what the next phone call or email is going to bring. Delighting clients with exceptional service and innovative problem-solving. Keeping the team challenged and personally growing. Making Elman Wall a fun and dynamic place.”
What are in your words the strengths of your firm?
“Deep knowledge of technical issues. Passionate about helping clients. Enthusiastic and happy to help. Excellent motivated people.”
“I’m a great believer in KPI’s standing for becoming a Key Person of Influence.”Jonathan Wall, Managing Director of Elman Wall Limited
How do you help clients being innovative?
“Our whole ethos is around helping clients solve their problems, so innovation is at the heart of that. We help clients change their mindset, using technology or good old pragmatism to grow or protect their businesses.”
What is the best or most rewarding experience you have had at your firm so far?
“Over the last 25 years there have been countless rewarding experiences, including being involved in close to 100 overseas conferences. We have worked tirelessly to build our firm and so looking at where we are now and where we are going is extremely rewarding. It really is a blessing to be happy in your work.”
What result you achieved for a client, are you most proud of?
“Again, there are countless. Anyone can keep a client happy in good times. I have strong memories of literally personally stopping a major bank taking a clients house way back when in a recession. That client went on to rebuild his business very successfully and he exited making millions. He never forgot when the chips were down, what we did for him.”
Which conditions do you think a ‘firm of the future’ should meet?
“Switched on, advisory led, caring, sees the big picture, smart, flexible, agile, open and transparent. Always ready to help a client in the best way possible, not just prepare accounts and tax returns. A partner, not an accountant.”
“You don’t need to dominate the entire industry. Master your niche.”
